It’s Salad Season
So many Canadians wait out winter with dreams of the sunny summer months. What a relief to finally be able to get outside now and soak up some sun and warmth after a long, cold winter. Part of that enjoyment is living as much of our time outside as we can and minimizing the food prep and heat of cooking big meals.
Enter the salad. One possible pitfall – getting bored with the same old humdrum salad recipes that we’ve been using for years. So it’s time to serve up some new ones that are sure to be delicious and please both family and guests.
Our ever so wonderful Tasty Turkey Champions have come to our aid with two very different yet equally amazing offerings. You won’t be able to get enough of these new salads!
Let’s start with Kelly Brisson (The Gouda Life) and her Poached Turkey Salad with Fennel, Kale and Cashews! Wow, Kelly really included every possible delight in this recipe. It’s not difficult, it’s tasty and will definitely receive ooh’s and aah’s when you serve this to family and company.
Now just to make the decision difficult, Michelle Peters-Jones (The Tiffin Box) created this amazing recipe for Coronation Turkey for us. The history of Coronation salads is so interesting and Michelle wrote about it on her blog when this recipe was introduced. We’re so glad that she took that classic recipe and married it with turkey to create this delicious dish.
Run, don’t walk, to your kitchen and get started because as we all know summer won’t last forever in the land of the True North Strong and Free!
